It has come to our attention that malicious actors have been sending spoofed emails using the address info@scamalerts.com, falsely claiming to represent our organization. These emails often target individuals and businesses, alleging that they have availed certain services—most commonly credit cards, banking, insurance, digital marketing, trademark registration, online shopping websites, etc. —and informing them that they’ve been scammed. These fraudulent emails give the impression that Scam Alerts is directly contacting victims to notify them, which is completely false and misleading.
Scam Alerts DOES NOT Initiate Contact with Individuals or Businesses
Let it be known that Scam Alerts does not contact any individual or business via email, phone, or any other means to inform them about a scam. Our only official communication channel for consumer-submitted reports is our forum, which is currently under development and will soon relaunch with an improved user experience.
On our platform, anyone can freely submit details about a scam they have experienced. Once submitted, our team reviews and verifies the information before making it publicly visible on our forum. We do not and have never reached out to any party directly regarding reported scams.
Spoofed Emails and Misuse of Our Identity
We have verified that these misleading emails are being sent via 5ymail, a known disposable email service. The sender is spoofing the “info@scamalerts.com” identity to appear credible and authoritative. This is an illegal and deceptive tactic aimed at discrediting our reputation and misleading the public.

This screen grab shows the content editor along with the option to spoof the sender’s email address at 5ymail.com.

This impersonation of Scam Alerts is not only unethical but also a direct attempt to sabotage the credibility and integrity we’ve built over the past two decades.
Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation
We have already taken swift legal action and reported the matter to the relevant cybersecurity and legal authorities. A full-scale investigation is currently underway to identify and prosecute the individuals responsible for this act of impersonation and defamation.
We are working closely with legal counsel and federal agencies to ensure the perpetrators face the maximum legal penalties under cybercrime and impersonation laws. These unlawful activities will not go unpunished, and we are committed to protecting our platform, our users, and the values we stand for.
A Word to the Public
We urge the public to remain vigilant. If you receive an email claiming to be from Scam Alerts and suggesting that you’ve been scammed, do not engage, respond, or click on any links within the message. Instead, report it to us via our official email (legal@scamalerts.com) or wait for the relaunch of our platform to submit relevant details.
