Scam Alerts is committed to maintaining a platform that is fair, transparent, and safe for both consumers and businesses. While we do not pre-moderate user-generated content, we take notifications of unlawful or harmful content seriously. The Notice & Take-Down procedure outlined below explains how concerns can be reported and how Scam Alerts will handle such requests.

1. What Is a Notice & Take-Down Request?

Because Scam Alerts does not actively monitor every review, comment, or report posted by users, we rely on third parties—typically businesses—to alert us to content that may be manifestly unlawful.

“Manifestly unlawful” means the illegality is clear and undeniable based on the content itself or on credible evidence provided to us.

This procedure is designed only for reporting clearly unlawful content—not for removing negative opinions, unfavorable reviews, or criticism.

2. What We Do Not Remove

A Notice & Take-Down request cannot be used to remove content simply because it is negative, critical, or unfavorable.

We do not remove:
  • Reviews that express opinion or dissatisfaction
  • Content that lacks proof of illegality
  • Complaints based solely on reputational concerns

Only content that is clearly unlawful will be considered.

3. When Will Scam Alerts Take Action?

Scam Alerts will take action only when:

  • The unlawfulness of the content is obvious at first glance, or
  • Sufficient evidence is provided to demonstrate a legal violation (e.g., defamation, copyright infringement, impersonation, privacy breach)

We do not act on suspicion alone.

4. Who Can Submit a Notice & Take-Down Request?

Only the person, business, or legal representative directly affected by the content may file a request.

5. Before You Submit a Complaint

A Notice & Take-Down request can only be submitted after you have attempted to contact the Publisher directly and have made reasonable efforts to resolve the issue.

If the complaint shows no attempt at direct communication, the request will be rejected.

6. How to Submit a Notice & Take-Down Request

Requests must be submitted through our official channels:

Incomplete or unsubstantiated requests will not be processed.

7. How Scam Alerts Processes a Request

Once we receive your request:

Steps:
  • Initial Review: We check whether enough information has been provided to evaluate the claim.
    • Unsubstantiated requests are automatically rejected.
  • Assessment: If the required information is present, Scam Alerts will evaluate whether the content is clearly unlawful.
  • Timeline: We aim to provide a response within 14 days from receipt of the complete request.
  • Outcome:
    • If the content is not unlawful, we will notify the complainant and take no action.
    • If the content is unlawful, Scam Alerts will take appropriate measures at our discretion, which may include hiding, removing, or restricting the content.

8. Objecting to a Decision

If you wish to contest the outcome, you may submit a new Notice & Take-Down request only if you have new evidence or additional information that was not previously reviewed.

9. Zero-Tolerance Policy for Threats & Abuse

Websites and businesses may not:

  • Threaten, intimidate, or harass Users or Reviewers
  • Make baseless legal threats to force removal of negative reviews
  • Engage in blackmail or coercion
  • Harass Scam Alerts staff or abuse the support process

Any such behaviour is considered a serious violation. This may result in:

  • Immediate termination of the business account
  • Blocking from future submissions
  • Reporting the incident to relevant authorities

Scam Alerts is a platform built on safety and fairness, and we enforce these rules strictly.
