User Guidelines
These guidelines apply to individuals (“Publishers”) who share blogs, articles, reviews, reports, comments, or any form of user-generated material (“Content”). They also apply to businesses, platforms, or websites mentioned or reviewed (“Websites”).
Our goal is to keep Scam Alerts useful, safe, and transparent for everyone.
For Publishers
We appreciate your contribution and the effort you put into helping others stay safe online. To maintain the integrity of Scam Alerts, please follow the guidelines below:
1. You Own Your Content
Any content you publish remains yours. You may edit or remove it through your account dashboard at any time. However, you are legally responsible for everything you post. If a Website disputes your Content, they may reach out to you through our secure messaging system.
2. Content Must Be Based on a Real Experience
Your review, report, or comment must reflect a genuine interaction with the Website or service you are describing. We may request proof, such as:
- Order confirmations
- Payment receipts
- Delivery notes
- Screenshots of chats or emails
- Evidence of fraud attempts
- User profile screenshots
This helps us ensure credibility and prevent misuse of the platform.
3. Content Must Be Legitimate
Your Content must not:
- Break any local or international law
- Infringe on intellectual property
- Violate privacy or data protection rules
- Contain fabricated or misleading claims
False or manipulated Content harms users and businesses and will be removed.
4. Content Must Be Relevant
Your submissions should focus on your experience with the Website or service. Please avoid:
- Political commentary
- Ethical or religious debates
- Promotional links
- Irrelevant personal opinions
- Advertisements or affiliate links
Stay factual, clear, and experience-based.
5. No Discriminatory or Violent Content
We allow emotionally expressed reviews. However, we do not tolerate:
- Hate speech
- Racial, political, or gender-based discrimination
- Threats or incitement to violence
- Explicit harassment
Keep discussions respectful and safe.
6. Publishers Must Not Benefit Financially
You may NOT:
- Accept payment, gifts, or rewards in exchange for posting
- Review a Website owned by you or your immediate family
- Review a competitor’s Website
- Review a business you work for or have a financial relationship with
Reviews must be unbiased and conflict-free.
Content Moderation & Reporting
Scam Alerts does not censor or pre-approve Content before it goes live. However, Websites and users can report Content that violates these guidelines. When Content is flagged:
- We will temporarily hide it.
- We will contact you to either:
- Edit the Content
- Provide proof of your experience
- You will have 7 days to respond.
- If you provide sufficient proof or edit the Content, we will reinstate it.
- If not, we may permanently remove or hide your Content.
For Websites
If your business is mentioned on Scam Alerts and you disagree with Content posted:
- Create a Free Business Account: You can respond publicly, clarify misunderstandings, and communicate directly with the Publisher.
- Engage Before Escalating: We encourage Websites to resolve issues with the Publisher first.
- Notice & Takedown Procedure: If a Publisher does not respond or if the Content clearly violates our guidelines:
- You may initiate a Notice and Take Down request.
- Scam Alerts will review the case and act accordingly.
